Mudlarks Garden Cafe

Opened in July 2014, Mudlarks Garden Cafe is Hertford’s only vegetarian and vegan cafe.

Using locally sourced seasonal ingredients and produce from the Mudlarks allotment site, we serve a wide range of delicious homemade savouries, cakes and pastries.

Situated in the heart of Hertford, we’re supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health issues to learn and work in our community.

Please note that this website is in the process of being closed.

Information concerning all of Mudlarks Community Garden, its Cafe and all its outside events is incorporated into

Our Food

As well as the best coffee and tea in Hertford, we serve a range of freshly cooked, healthy vegetarian and vegan food.

We open at 9am and lunch is served from 11.30am. Take a look at the menu!

Got some free time and want to do something worthwhile? Come and join the fun!

Mudlarks always welcomes volunteers to help on site or in the cafe, supporting our gardeners, running stalls and exhibitions, assisting with administration, providing professional assistance with financial, fundraising, publicity and legal issues.

Please let us know what you can do!
